I chose to work with Krissy because she is a close friend and she knows me, but what I got from this experience was so much more then why I hired her. I originally asked Krissy to help keep me accountable with proper fueling I had been struggling for years with disordered eating patterns. I knew if I made myself accountable to a friend I would have a much better chance of success. Both with running and my health. Krissy knew my current fitness level and understood where I was as a 54 year old woman with 30 years of running on my body. She developed a training plan that not only included running but mobility, recovery, strength training, and fueling. She checked in weekly with reminders, motivation and what I wanted most of all, accountability. This year working with Krissy has put me on a great path moving forward. I met and exceeded all of my goals. I won my age group for ever race I ran, 50k, 70k and 100 miles. I got that Hardrock qualifier with Krissy by my side.

Steve & Genevie in Iceland 2022

I just wanted to say hi, check in a bit and thank you.

Genevie and I recently returned from Iceland where I ran the Hengill 53k and we celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. Had a really fun and amazing time exploring all around. The race went well. I actually got to a start line and finished! 

I worked hard to get there, enjoyed every day of the process, had no injuries or illnesses over many months of training and I owe much of that to you! I followed the “beginner” training plan in your book. It might have been the first time I followed a plan, religiously, workout to workout, week to week and without missing a beat.

It worked out so well! Keeping up with my strength work (quality sleep, great nutrition, etc.) and your plan seemed to keep me resilient and somehow recovered enough to keep going. There were some tough days of course, but I knew that is also part of the training (mental toughness, right?), so I just got up and went out with a good attitude and trust in the process, every single day.

Too bad it took me 63 years to figure out training consistency and following a wise (and not overreaching) plan from a great coach like you!

You are quite an inspiration for me and others, in so many ways, Krissy. Many thanks!

Hi Krissy! I’m calling real quick to let you know that I very, very, very much appreciate all of the help that you have provided. And while I was certainly aiming to engage with you again over this next this season, all that life is throwing at me right now I need to garner as much control of a couple of things that I know Bronco has been through… that has already been said. What I really want to let you know is just that I think you’re awesome. And you helped my family out more than you will ever know and we love you very much. I do look forward to hopefully giving you a big hug someday. I wanted to reach out with a call instead of a text because that is how I roll.
